I agree with what people have said, but you guys aren't in the same regiment as him. I love Roger, I think he is a great kid, however, I do not think that he is ready to be staff. To quote a couple people " learning what to say and what not to say". I feel like that is gonna be an issue because it is on your clone life, we have talked about it many times,(I have talked to you about this.) and nothing has changed. I just don't see that changing if you become staff in the foreseeable future.
I agree with Unlucky's sentiment here. I believe that Roger has some trouble holding his tongue and ends up interrupting people which, in my eyes, could create some issues. I don't believe that Roger will be able to help in the actual moderation side of things when it comes to banning/talking/kicking people. As part of his regiment, I've seen first-hand people attempt to help him out constructively. However, to this day it seems that it hasn't gotten to him. Roger doesn't quite catch social queues and I don't want to see him get taken advantage of by the player base because of how kind he is. Roger is a great kid, but I don't think he would be a good fit for staff.

After reading through these replies while getting decimated by AD-SDs in Quark's event, gotta say.
Unlucky, Toron and Naz bring up extremely valid points. (and faith lol)
Changing my +1 to a -1

I'm sorry to do this dude but you're just not ready for this level of responsibility, staff has a lot of responsibilities and you are just not ready for it.

Even if do get accepted to staff it's going to be a really rough time for you, and as your friend, I don't want you to go through that mess

I also agree with the points brought up by Faith, Toron, and Naz.

Yeah my bad. That was outta pocket. As a revision, I agree with the prior points made, but do see the potential for change and growth.

Even though I've only interacted with you in brief moments at a time, I can tell you are a great guy but I have also noticed your extraverted nature. Though there is nothing necessarily wrong with being social, there are times where you need to know when speaking out is appropriate or not.

-1. Good kid with good intentions, but can’t read the room for the life of him and input volume is always at 600%.

I don’t know what a loud mic has to do with anything

The combo with not being able to read the room combined with that can easily lead to disrupting a very delicate situation. Disciplining players would be a good example of this, especially when they don’t know what they did wrong or if another staff is with them. Having someone bursting in, not following the flow of the conversation, and disrupting it loudly could turn a player from taking the correction from staff from favorably, to unfavorably.

Shit mics exist. The quality or loudness of his mic has nothing to do with anything you mentioned. Roger is actively improving on “reading the room”. It’s not like staff members didn’t have this same problem, and they still were welcomed into the staff team. Roger knows how to handle serious situations, it just he needs to conduct himself in a more professional way. His lax attitude and such is a product of the environment that has been rooted in the community for a while now. I truly believe roger would be a good staff member because he actually cares.

Due to the points suggested, I agree with most of them.

However with enough patience and care I do think you will be able to make a good staff member, however I am conflicted due to the other points put forward by the others

Yeah, not changing my +1. Roger deserves a chance. I was never the most serious person or that good with "social cues" prior to getting on the staff team. I still did fine. You don't need to be that serious to still be a strict staff member who's still effective. I think Pyro is a great example of that. People bombarded his app over the concern that he would get taken advantage of because of his personality, but he's proven to be a very capable staff member. I think expectations are being constructed here that are a bit of a non-issue. Some social quirkiness is not going to completely stonewall someone's ability to carry out staff duties.

You put it into better words, but exactly this. In my opinion, I think everyone that’s -1ing is just dog piling at this point or holding roger to a higher standard than they do actual staff members (please don’t come at me for saying this, not trying to start something).

+1 I think all the constructive criticism roger has gotten here is great, and will help him greatly improve as a trial moderator : )

I forgot neutrals don't do anything so

+1. I believe he has been pointed in the right direction. Roger might make a good staff member, he is certainly a very nice person. I dont think he wouldn't be able to perform staff duties even with the aforementioned problems. Obviously I'm not absolutely certain how he will turn out because I do agree partially with some of the issues mentioned. After giving it some thought though, I don't think him being a little too talkative will make him unable to follow directions and help us around the server. He does need to understand that during events he needs to keep things relevant to assist the game masters.

+1 I feel roger has a good understanding of what it takes to be staff and can meet those challenges with professionalism.
