GLA forces

So in latest events we were fighting the GLA forces. I have nothing to do with them, but there is one little thing that's annoys me. Why the GLA forces can shoot through shields? I know that's not big of an issue, but it annoys so much (especially DOOM company members). Could we do something with it?

Some of the shots do still hit you, but the shield still does its thing
I know that much, if they totally shot through the shield, you'd be dead much faster
