Date of ban?: Sunday, October Eight.
Staff member that banned you?: I was banned by King Rome, Otherwise known as Captain Fox of Shock.
Why were you banned?: My Ban specifies as follows; "Minge, Disrespect, FailRP"
Reason you feel you should be unbanned?: For this next Section of my thread, I will be using numbers to refer to my points of why I should be unbanned.
I will start with what happened prior to my ban, since most appeals seem to lack that type of information.
The map was the home venator, it was around 9:30 PM, and I was by the Armory. I was with a few people whom have a similar mindset as me, and tend to get "Rowdy" when there is nothing going on. Me and a fellow 327th Member had walked up towards the checkpoint, and made some jokes referring to a statement he made, saying that Shock do not allow for jokes to be made. We said a few jokes, the main punchline being us saying "OOC" every sentence. This may of gotten out of hand, but keep in mind shock did not reprimand us, or arrest us. We decided to go into a more private area, due to us not wanting to bother the shock further, well.. me at least. At this time, we had gathered a small crowd, and we went into the waiting room of the medbay. At this time, we started doing the OOC jokes again, remaining in private and not causing any harm. Keep in mind during this no Roleplay was going on, and I don't think the staff had a plan to have any roleplay, and because of this we were being non-serious. The ban Occured after I had pressed my kill bind by mistake, and I started laughing in mic. It ended with a ban appearing from Captain Rome, whom apparantly had heard our conversation. Keep in mind, I was no Warned, Arrested, Or even Kicked prior. Sure, maybe an Hour - a Day ban would be acceptable, but I was banned for TWO WEEKS, THREE DAYS, and SEVENTEEN HOURS. I find this unacceptable, as people who /MASS RDM/ have similar types of bans. After this happened, I remained calm, talked to my captain over steam, and got into a discord with Captain Rome. Before I could even attempt to defend myself, he accused me of various things, gave me no time to even respond, and when I could finally sputter out how long my ban was, he said "Oh, it was two weeks? Good." as if he did not know how long he banned me for.. He literally admitted he just typed in random numbers for my ban, which is probably twenty times more immature than ANYTHING I did. Not to mention, the posse of players I was with, whom did virtually the SAME thing as me, got no punishment. No Warns, no Kicks, no Bans. That is what I call; "Selective Administration." I'm not saying the people I was with should of been punished, I don't think thats fair to them. What i'm saying is I find it extremely immature of the staff member who banned me, and i'm quite frankly disgusted by the fact I was banned, let alone without any previous or prior warnings.
To put this into more simplified terms;
1. The Ban length is in my opinion; much too high for what I did.
2. The Staff member who Banned me had not even warned me to stop.
3. The Supposed "Disrespect" was me simply making a poor excuse of a joke towards him.
4. I was the only one out of a bunch who was banned, which I find to be favoritism.
If I did break rules, I am sorry. But I just felt since nothing was going on, there wouldn't be much harm. The other players seemed to have no issue with it, hell they even had fun.
I at least want to get my ban shortened, if not removed completely. I'm genuinely upset that I was removed from the server, I love playing on it. Yes I tend to get unserious, but do I think that warrants such a cruel and harsh punishment? No, not at all.
