Just an idea considering the nature of the Clone Wars, as the Republic is fighting a collective of populaces and planetary governments that wish to secede, you would think that alongside the Droid Army the GAR would also be facing fringe Separatist sympathizers on politically-destabilized worlds.
Instead of attacking Clones on open ground in large numbers, relying on manpower and firepower to bring down the Republic forces, insurgent groups would rely on targeting weak elements of an army, shock and awe by ambushes, deployment of minefields and/or IEDs, essentially attacking troopers using guerrilla tactics.
These groups would usually be based near population centers, making it more difficult for conventional armies to engage the guerrillas. This also allows the insurgents to increase their recruiting pool should their enemies prove careless for collateral damage, capitalizing on the increase in sympathy for their cause.
This will also force Republic forces to change tactics in these areas of operations. Much of their operations will have to do with gaining the support the local government and populace, with a focus on maintaining the peace and order in the region while gaining support for the Republic. However, as the insurgents may have sympathizers within the government and populace, they cannot be relied upon absolutely for aid.
Republic forces should set up an ROE (Rules of Engagement) for identifying targets before shooting, as the militants would likely blend in with civilians. As well, they should be prepared to handle hostile civilians, though this should never have to include lethal force unless they attempt to kill Republic personnel.
As well, Republic forces should also prepare for sporadic and irregular attacks on bases and facilities, and should send out regular patrols to ensure that the guerrillas don't set up traps or firebases near their own encampments.
Much of the success of these missions will have to do with the ability to complete objectives with as much efficiency and minimal collateral damage possible. While it won't do to have your troopers just charge an entrenched enemy position and die en masse, it also won't do to have the Fleet bomb the surrounding area in the hopes of eliminating the insurgents.
