+ Welcome

It's been a while since I've gathered my thoughts. Usually I just focus on the battles ahead, rather than looking at the past.
My numbers are 8466. I was given the nickname Maine by a Jedi Padawan no longer with us.
I'm a Soldier, through and through. I did what I could to keep my brothers out of any extra trouble, especially those under my command.

I led the 21st aboard the Venator Renegade for a short time. After learning something horrid, an evil creature that the Jedi grew weary of attempted to enlist my help with his schemes, using my brothers as leverage. For this, I faked my death and joined up with the Navy. I left my XO - Eighteen in charge and unfortunately he didn't do as well as I'd hoped.

I hid away under the name Dispatch and underwent Naval training, specifically in the RNI and R&D department. By this time, I'd lost many of my brothers.
Eighteen, Cannon Fodder, Six, Ironsights, Shad and many more.
It was around this time that one of my brothers and I learned a fair many secrets - things that we shouldn't have been made privy to, but nonetheless, those secrets were revealed to us.

War crimes, secret executions, assassinations and even treachery. The state of the greed and corruption was made known to me. I kept my eyes ahead and focused on the task at hand until I could reveal myself in a way that didn't arouse suspicion. I was assigned to Lieutenant Junior Grade Stannon as a personal bodyguard and I donned the old armour of one of my mentors; Captain Blitz.

Stannon was attacked by Grievous. I did my duty and threw myself at the mechanised warrior, a brutal machination of a culture long since lost. His ferocity and temper only sought to compliment his cunning and skill. If he weren't the enemy that took my arm, crushed my throat and rendered me helpless - I'm certain I'd admire him.

At first, I was led to believe Stannon died by the Generals' hands - thankfully that wasn't the case and the LT survived, as did I.
During recovery, my identity was revealed and I left the Naval Security branch to join up with the 187th Airborne. I rose through the ranks again, weighed down by my past transgressions and the guilt of surviving where my brothers fell one by one.

I knew things,
Things a Trooper like me shouldn't have to deal with.
Undeath, Dark Jedi, Holocrons, secret experiments with the fallen...
As time progressed, the things I knew just continued to pile up. I grew paranoid and the thought of my knowledge being discovered left me fearful that my life may soon come to an end. When the 41st were wiped out, it was if fear had left my mind only to be replaced by grief. Grief then replaced with anger and frustration as the traitor Major Brick snuffed out the 21st's fire.

The Renegade was betrayed again...
Major Brick - whom I had previously treated in the medical bay during my guise as Dispatch.
I knew something was off about him, but rather than trust my basic instinct, I placed my trust in High Command.
Let's just say I wasn't surprised when the curtain finally fell and Major Brick's mask was smashed, revealing his hideous and vile nature for all to see.
Even I struggled to maintain my composure when we saw him for the prick he was. With words and pathetic fury, I attacked him with words over open communications. I practically encouraged him.

Warrant Officer Jag and his men fell, butchered by Major Brick.
A mission I was in charge of.
A mission, I failed.
Their deaths, are on me.

The order has been given and it has been received well.
I'll keep facing forward, my boots will trudge through snow, rock, metal and time. My feet will not still until I have accomplished my goal.
I will see it done, through sheer force of will or stubborn pride, it shall be done.

In times like these, I look for guidance, advice, anything that will help through the coming storm. I think back to Senior Commander Fudall and his speeches that radiated with us Troopers, left our hearts burning with the passion of the Republic.
'Eyes front, keep walking.'
