Today we are introducing B2 Super Battle droids to the server.
Some are capable of shooting proton missiles, others are limited to blaster fire.
Their balance is subject to change, but they are intended to pose a very serious threat
.

Future NPC Plans
In addition to the B2s, we have a number of NPCs that are very close to becoming a reality.
As we complete our planned roster, will be the first, and only server with:

latest

Tri-Droids
latest

Droidekas
latest

Colicoid/Sith War Droids
latest

Nexus (Creature)
latest

Reeks (Creature)
latest

Acklays (Creature)
latest

Homing Droids
latest

Spider Droids

It will definitely take time to get all of these bad boys animated, coded, and ingame, but over time we will develop a full roster of new enemies to enhance your experience.

Certification Updates
The certification system itself is working well, but the system through which they are earned is not. After observation and direct communication from players, we've found that the difficulty in earning certifications is misplaced. Certifications should be challenging and rewarding to earn, but we've found that the majority of the challenge comes from scheduling and luck; Not a fun combination.

As such, we are hard at work at reworking how certifications are earned. Our plans involve getting players active with the crafting system (Which is also receiving a major overhaul), engaging with others, cooperating to accomplish tasks, and more. Certifications should be earned based on your actions rather than how lucky you are with timing. Hopefully our overseas players will find themselves relieved at this news!

Server Updates
As previously mentioned, the crafting system is receiving a major overhaul.
Our Plans
Instead of earning only one type of loot from all enemies, you will earn a variety of loot based on the enemy type. Scrap will still be a universal loot item, but there will be other components loot items of varying rarities that can only be earned by defeating specific types of enemies.
Trade will be very important, especially for receiving rare loot from enemies such as super battle droids, tri droids, and more.

Mining will also be implemented. I have been considering this addition for a while but I now am certain that the best decision for us is to implement this. Mining will stand beside Looting as a primary method of gaining resources, but mining will also be implemented to allow you to slowly, but surely, gain materials outside of events. Mining is a long process, but as we perfect the balance, it will be quite the rewarding experience.

Prismatic crystals, Blaster casings, Advanced alloys, and more will become highly sought after items.

Weapons will have durability, meaning that though it will last you a while, the weapon will eventually need to be re-crafted. This is one of the more difficult parts of the crafting update. If you're interested in the technical aspect, read on:
The current plan is to have the weapon recipes give you an item that gives you some number of single-use weapons THAT CANNOT BE DROPPED. In a sense, it becomes bound to you, and you cannot trade away your weapon once you "unpack" it. Each time you equip the weapon, that's one less use. However, there will be no limit to how many times you craft the weapon pack, nor will there be a limit to the size of the stack. If a weapon just really works for you, you are only limited by the crafting resources at your disposal.
also i might add some type of "lootbox" to the donation site for crafting resources but it won't be EA-level, and I WILL NOT base the loot drop rates around these to encourage them, they'll just be there as an option. Mining, looting during events, squad tournaments, and more will all be perfectly viable alternatives. please don't hate me :(

That being said, Project Renegade is doing quite well! Our playercount has been increasing recently, so we will soon begin regularly using the event server for squad-based events.

I'm also looking for more developers; People who can do graphic design, retexture models, make models, edit videos, make maps, ETC. ETC. If you're interested, shoot me a DM on discord!

If you players have not noticed, your opinions matter. When you go on WPC and talk and have a discussion, it matters. This is evidence of stuff like that working.

Well there be more wipes? I've been very dedicated to this server to the point I get very competitive, like in the early days with Kyram squad and now lost a lot of loot three times now. Along with everyone else. I'm just would like alittle reassurance that aleast some of our effort is not wasted in the alpha.

Actually I'm moving the database folder from before in as we speak, the inventory "wipe" that occured a few days ago is not permanent, just a result of reinstalling the entire server.

The only wipe that might happen from this point on is a level wipe.

Why not, instead of having to completely recraft a bunch of weapons in case your first one breaks, implement a repair system where, you have to use the same components you used to make the gun (you can make it more or less Riddick), you can repair your weapon. or, make a repair kit. the type of system I'm thinking of is like in fallout: 3 where your weapon cannot be used if the durability is completely gone, and you have to repair the weapon. =)

There will be a repair/durability feature added.
